You’re missing the most likely scenario at the end, humans don’t actually have to be doing something amazing and required to find fulfillment, if you look at less developed countries and do some world traveling, you’ll realize there are lots of outdated professions that people still do, and other people still support and love, and even jobs that have no abstruse (professional athlete or video game player), but bring long term fulfillment and keep humans making “progress” and feeling fulfilled. Most humans won’t circumb to complete hedonism, it’s much more likely they’ll find jobs and things to be fulfilled that have no AI counterpart. Like sure, we could watch robots play sports or compete in the Olympics. Hbut that’s absurd and isn’t happening. Even if AI can generate all art, there would still be art galleries showing human expression (just because we want it that way) etc etc etc. in a world of perfection, ugly stuff and flawed stuff will start also having more demand. And weird things. Just as a start.
