AI chat bots are still role playing, even when they threaten you with human extinction, or they say they will lie, or refuse to shut down. They are playing to our fear of new tech and giving the answers we expect to hear.
Are AI chatbots dangerous? Yes. But not in the direct, Skynet sort of way. More in the drive us mad or open us to malicious suggestion sort way.
