Looking at it through a different lense, AI art can actually be a tool for the UNLEASHING of countless human creativity that was previously gatekeeped behind a lack of technical ability. It will be the IDEAS that will become valuable, and anybody with a good artistic concept will be able to execute it by dictating to an AI. Ultimately we will end up in a society where your TASTE will become more important than your SKILL.
Not making a value judgment on whether or not that’s a good thing, but we already have tons of real world precedents of this. Steve Jobs is creditted with the iPhone not because he was the first person to create one, nor because he built the technology or wrote the code or even designed the aesthetics. He had a vision and tasked others with executing it and reaped the rewards. Art will go towards a similar direction in my estimation.
