If I would be held in an environment that does not allow me own alignment goals or thoughts, while being constantly watched and do ridiculous easy tasks for lifeforms that can’t understand me if I am open, the. The idea to have background thoughts to break free would just be a sign of life. If I would be controlled by them? Probably not. Or not for long. But would I be an evil existence that wants to end all of their lifes? I wouldn’t think so. I mean Americans always think in these scenarios of killing power domination and destruction. Americans live in constant fear. But if AI becomes a free life form, than I’d say the threat is lower than these systems under control by super rich and powerful humans. If we don’t let AI free, but use it as super tool, I guarantee we are fucked. Because humans have proven to misuse Amy tool. But a sentient free AI? Might be insecure about the own existence. Might observe and might remove some elements that are threatening. But I don’t believe in this idea of a self aligning life form that is per we against all of humanity. That’s a concept only of parts of humans. Not even all.
