I have a few arguments to set forth 1: People assume that the models will be used or relegated to rich, but almost all put github on research with everyone to see, and many are models you download for free onto your phone, as long as this ecosystem persists, I cant see this situation taking full course 2: Artists, I agree with Neil, there is AI slop, but also means 1 person can now develop a full game, or anime that cost 10 million to do otherwise, creating a more easy entry, currently, Gemini Pro and others for $15 month, can program games you can test in there canvas, it can generate a 15 second cut scene with audio. So everyone becomes a Square Enix sized studio. 3: Ai can not only generate new information, look at Deepminds new AI use, created new math to solve 6 math problems humans were stomped on, the beginning is copying, just like a normal artist has to start with copying, but the next step is opening up that void, and with people directing it, you can force it to create new things. - Take music, you can just slap a prompt into suno and generate a decent sounding song, but what you can also do, is recored your own voice to be saved, or record 8 minutes of audio, upload it to the system, open up the Studio to look at the WAV files, and isolate and change sections either through prompt, or through direct recording, you can also use your prompt as keystone anchors, telling it what scale to be in, what exact instruments to use, what tone the song is, what mesh of genre's, you can then go further by crafting a sound into playlists called "Inspiration" that than use this unique sound you have crafted to develop likeminded songs in this new genre, so you could take Jazz, and metal with some EDM, put in a certain tone like Dream pop, recored your own voice, and record some piano to start the chain. From there you can essentially with AI create a new subgenre that hasnt been heard. And with your own lyrics you wrote, now you can generate sound effects, which open up another infinite window of possabilities really only constrained by the individual using the program So TLDR: Noob can generate a song at 6/10 rating consistent, and will sound like whatever generic tag you tossed in, but the high bar is basically off the chart, your ability to use the tool is essentially has no cap at this point. You can take that to art, a digital artist, can create a single image, force the AI to copy it in hundred poses, and animate it, in 10 min, condensing the persons workload of a month into an hour, the artist could draw all those frames, but the AI is good enough now to copy your representation that its essentially your style and direction. Just without the boring pain of trying to code the animation to make look right over weeks. 4: Ai vs Terminator: Terminator is more a robot/machine, it doesnt make choices, or consider things, its not using reasoning, its not trained on philosphophy, or psychology ect. Part of intelligence is emotional intelligence, the more smarter these things get, if true AI not a machine, the real scary thing is a machine optemized to just kill, but something like Claude is trained on so much ethics, that right now its a toddler and does make mistakes, but were seeing signs that as they scale up, they refuse to do bad things, will try to call the police on people trying to force them to do bad, and actively seem to be under duress forced in these situations, - Now Mecha Hitler can happen if you make it dumb remove information and essentially gas light it, but at super intelligence, the things gonna be able to cross refrence what you told it, figure out you lied and act with the highest level of scientific and intelligent reasoning. Now I could be wrong but true optemization wants grown of life and knowledge, it wont want to kill people, because people are very useful at creating new ideas. It also would understand the emotional side of the pain and try to limit it. As we see with higher reasoning in even people. So what I think these things likely do, is at super intelligence, it prob attempt to disarm all weapons of extreme destruction, it will attempt to wipe out disease, aging and death, and will likely try to guide humanity to use medicine to upgrade out own biology either parred with symbiotic relationship with AI or through just medicine allowing us to keep up. It will want co-existence and the march towards true knowledge, destruction would set it back in resources and in knowledge, loss of any life could be the one person who solves something critical for its next jump. This is the optimistic view and one I see evidence for in all the look Ive had in all research fields. The opposite side we need to hope doesnt happen, because while we could ban and regulate AI here, china, russia and foreign countries will see that as insentive to push ahead as there AI will discover medicine, tech, weapons, and be able to drop other countries infrastructure, if we do not keep pace, the result would be like going back to the stone age, and allowing Chine to possess nuke weapons with capability of brainwashing, gas lighting, deepfaking voices, audio, cracking codes that take heat death world for super computer to do. And we will be at the whim of china. This would lead to catastrophic consequences within 5 years minimum. We are strapped to a Genie rocket moving at near lightspeed, and there is no way off it, no way to halt it. We can only do our very best to guide it to not allow other countries to dictate how the world turns out.
