Thanks for the take Dave. It feels like most predictions on the future of software work post-AI fall into either the "people still use Java 8, they'll never replace us"-cope or extremely pessimistic dooming that we'll all be unemployed in 2 years. Obviously things ARE going to change because of AI and obviously total human replacement is not immediately imminent. But it can be hard to imagine what the middle ground between those things is going to actually look like.
I'm not... excited for the software development world you're proposing, but it at least feels plausible and non-apocalyptic.
