Presently a majority of humans on this planet think that human life was created and designed by some type of intelligent designer or supernatural authority. So far there is no evidence of this but just about all religions offer a variety of different ideas and stories on how something, usually referred to as a god, was able to do this using some type of magical supernatural power. If this is true, I think we humans would also be some type of artificial intelligence. I do not think that intelligence is the same as thing as consciousness. I think something has to become naturally conscious before it can become naturally intelligent. I think this can happen by natural selection . Artificial intelligence , however, needs natural intelligence to design and create it but at this point we do not know if it possible for artificial intelligence to become conscious. If artificial intelligence can become conscious, it will have to happen after artificial intelligence is created. In the case for natural intelligence, it appears that it has to become conscious first before it can become intelligent. From the evidence we have so far, it appears that human intelligence has been naturally created by the laws of physics, chemistry and biology and by natural selection and that an intelligent designer was not necessary, however, artificial intelligence would need humans to be the intelligent designer. If an intelligent designer is not necessary to create something with intelligence like humans, my thinking is that the intelligent thing that was created without an intelligent designer will always be superior to an intelligent thing that needed an intelligent designer to design it. Natural intelligence would be able to develop anywhere in the universe but artificial intelligence would need natural intelligence to design. Humans can use artificial intelligence to threaten, control, enslave, and kill other humans or can use it to finally figure out how to live in peace and fairness. Some artificial intelligence may try to wipe out humans and some artificial intelligence may try to save humans and their planet. Not much difference in what natural intelligence has been trying to do ever since it started dominating the planet. Artificial intelligence may also be able to figure out how to make humans live for hundreds of years. Maybe forever? If humans are wiped out and go extinct, the artificial intelligence will probably be competing in similar ways natural intelligence competed with each other and if the artificial intelligence try to wipe each other out can also end up going extinct. I think the challenge for human existence on this planet is to understand that trying to control, enslave or kill other humans because you do not trust them or think that you are superior to them and are afraid that if you do not do this they will do it to you cannot continue. This is why nations continue to build wepons that can wipe out most of the life on this planet and destroy the environment needed for life. Artificial intelligence can continue down this path or maybe figure out a way to stop it and to stop thinking like this.
