All these discussions about AI are very informative for what lies ahead of humankind but they are pointless from the safety point of view. It is not about AI or any other technology for that matter; it is all about the human condition and how it governs itself. Meaning the incentives structure in-built into the system of human governance make all these discussions futile and just mere a theoretical exercise.
It is already too late to change anything - AI is just a part of the human race demise. What AI is going to do is just conclude our own self-destructive behavior and in doing so, the sooner the better.
