When people say that AI art is a lower cost of entry, they are talking specifically about digital art. It's much cheaper to use these (often free trials) to generate art than it is to spend hundreds of dollars on a decent art pad with pressure sensitivity and a good stylus, it's even more expensive if you're going for the higher end equipment.
Now that is very different than grab a pencil and a sheet of paper that you're alluding to. Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side on this, but on this one, you kind of missed the point of the argument.
