If ai puts everyone out of work there will be no money for people to buy whatever ai makes for sale. If no one can buy whatever ai produces then why do it at all? Even the billionaires that use Ai to make money by getting rid of employees will untimely put themselves out of business once everyone is broke. It makes no sense.
