Senator, people want cheap products. Very few people are willing to pay 5x more, or even 2x, for products simply because they are made in America. If that wasn't true, Walmart would have closed its doors a long time ago. Do you prefer to buy affordable products made in China by human workers, or the same cheap product made in America by robots? The choice is clear. I prefer made in America. We can artificially force jobs to be done by humans when they can easily be done by robots and AI, that's evolution. The United States of America can't afford to fall behind in the AI race; this is one of the biggest national security risks we have today. We must lead no matter what. Some people will lose their jobs, yes, at first some will, in the same way it happened during the industrial revolution, it is part of the process. However, those people will find other jobs, other careers even. We can't play Chicken Little and imagine that those billionaires you mention will be the only people with jobs and money, and the rest will starve. You know and I know that the economy will find its balance. This is a race to the top, and only the most powerful nations are on it. As a patriot, you should embrace this race, support it, put partisan differences to the side, we can't afford to be second, unless we are willing to be speaking Chinese or Russian in the future. Today, whether or not we like, we must stay ahead of every other nation on AI, and if it wasn't for those billionaires you mentioned, who would help us get there? Look at Europe, what do they have in terms of AI? I bet they wish they were in our shoes. This is not about manufacturing, this is not about billionaires becoming even richer, this is about National Security. Have you seen the army of Chinese military robots? Have you seen how powerful those autonomous AI drones from Ukraine are? All AI. Time to change perspective or become irrelevant. With all due respect sir.
