Local economies will form to reject this. It’s the natural order of things. When the conglomerates can’t do business in a region and shutter business doors and the real estate market in an area collapses because because there are no jobs and no amenities, all it takes is a handful of people to reinvigorate dilapidated regions. This is largely going to be a problem in some cities but massive tax incentives for companies who reduce the use of automation technology to create jobs are inevitable as well. The only other solution is a total breakdown of the economy and the nation with widespread lawlessness and poverty overtaking areas nominally apart of the United States but actually left to their own devices with wealthy self sufficient enclaves becoming more prominent. Those are the options.
