I’m pushing back on the idea that angel engine is good in any respect. I think I understand what you are saying, but I just have to say it. Angel engine is a good idea, but a good idea is not the sum total of what a piece of art is. At first glance, it appears interesting, but there is no depth, the whole thing is lazy. The insistence on using the same damn lavender town theme for every video, the reliance on AI which causes any meaning to be lost. There’s nothing of real substance here. If the artist couldn’t be bothered to produce a visual aspect for his video series, he should have just made an audio story, or written a book. What is there to even theorize or think about? The entire thing feels like a product. That’s not what analog horror is supposed to feel like. It’s supposed to be one of the most artistic genres we have on the internet. The ultimate use of very little to convey a lot. But you can’t convey anything with nothing.
