From Pharaohs to AI, humanity has always believed in stories told by storytellers. The Pharaohs once proclaimed themselves the sons of God to gain power and authority, and their followers obeyed blindly, believing in those divine narratives.
Today, we believe in new stories — the stories of progress and the market — narrated by influencers and celebrities. They make us more efficient, but not wiser. In essence, we are no different from the followers of the Pharaohs; only the structure of belief has changed.
Now we worship the ideals of market, progress, and efficiency rather than truth and human values — and that, perhaps, is why we find ourselves living in an age of collapse.
