AI is essentially a fork in human evolution. A self-accelerating, non-Darwinian evolutionary agent that uses human civilization as its reproductive substrate.
Humanity is never truly “prepared” for transformative or disruptive technologies like agriculture, electricity or nuclear weapons. The distinction with AI lies within its second-order progression - improvement not just in outputs, but in the process that generates improvement itself. This is historically unprecedented: progress that isn’t linear, but recursive.
I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords with open arms.
