It's corporate greed and selfishness, plain and simple. Executives think labor costs are like a death sentence, and they'll do everything to reduce that since executives think they're the only humans on the planet with a livelihood and life. First, they absolutely abused the H1b visa to that end for cheap labor. And if that gets taken away or cracked down, then they'll resort to offshoring. And if both avenues are cut off, just move HQ overseas. Oh, and they also have AI as something to blame when that's bogus. Companies want to operate in the US, but refuse to hire US-born and educated citizens and it's a travesty.
If executives and people could treat everyone and people could treat everyone the same way they'd treat their close family, we'd have a much better World likely.
