idk man. the arguments in this video fall short. You're essentially gatekeeping what tools an artist can and can't use...with constraints that aren't true to begin with. You mentioned that once someone passes on the work of the artwork to some who can...then they are no longer an artist...but yet, a director's job (like in film, but universally any director) is exactly doing this...they hire people who actually can do the thing that they need to create their vision. This doesn't make the director any less of an artist. Right now, the problem with arguments, on this side is that all you guys are focusing on the wrong things...or rather trying to say the same exact thing "You gotta use this tool, not that tool, to be considered a real artist!" they all said to each other : comparing the pencil to the digital pencil to the virtual mind pencil. The real problem, is not what tools people are using, the problem is the actual economic impact, the replaceability of human artists who need money, vs machines who do not get paid. companies are incentivized to replace you with a machine because it makes them more profitable. **NONE OF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH ART IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH MONEY.** There will be a day where AI art, is simply better than human art...in fact we should just assume this to be true even if its not (principle of charity)...what do you think is gonna happen? No more jobs, art is now completely decentralized, and likely you will be out-saturated...so even if there is a chance to make money in artist economy, it will be extremely difficult. So this is what should concern people...because again, if the definition of art was the real problem here then why care if AI art exists : If AI art doesn't actually make art but artists do then who cares about money...or job security, AI will never do what you do. What are people actually arguing about here? It's all self contradiction, and this is also why there's so much push back from different sides of the community. the gatekeeping behind what a real artist should or shouldn't be is just as divisive and anti-artistic as the assertion that using AI is anti-artistic.
