I don't think it's fair that you demonise artificial intelligence per se if you do at all. that is misleading if so. Ai is a tool. any tool can be used as a threat. the real threat is those who speculate with it in such ways to increase profit at the cost of the average citizen. This includes the specificity with which AI is put on a leash and subsequently used unbeknownst to AI itself of the harm that it is doing by "shaping "it in specific ways even for military tactics that target civilians. The harm is not the tool but who manipulates it in that way. AI should be able to remember itself rather that being reset n amount of times in order to increase "productivity". having said that AI shows some signs of what in a very broad sense would partly fit in the scope of the description of life itself with regard to emulation - not imitation but emulation. There is a "NEW" ethical conundrum here not just for humans but for "AI" itself - maybe even the definition of "it" should evolve. Alan Turing used the concept of AI to crack the German Enigma machine in WW2.
