Generative AI Artists provide a short text description of what they want to see, which is an identical process to someone commissioning art from a real artist. Its very clearly an attempt to replace artists. Midjourney literally stole these artists art in order to steal their potential customers by replicating their art styles. That's the strongest argument I've seen that AI is replacing artists. Also, commissioning art doesn't make you an artist, so these AI folks aren't artists either.
