As a Software Engineer, "AI" is a fad, a recurring one too. Each time there's a great advance you get shills because they are trying to get people to invest in it claiming nebulous benefits. The reality is that current tech has well known limits, but the sales people gotta eat and so they oversell how good it actually is. It is only good for boilerplate stuff in coding (with HEAVY manual supervision), or writing the same things over and over in a email and little else. About the only generative use I find somewhat acceptable is people who use it to make higher quality shitposts.
