The AI thing reminds me a lot of when people first started getting internet in their homes. I was just a kid at the time, but I vividly remember my dad staunchly, arrogantly asking why he would ever want an internet connection in his house since he gets his email at work. No one knows what the end result is going to look like yet, but it seems pretty obvious that whatever happens, AI is going to change the game for art and culture in a big way. And that's why I'm in a perpetual State of shock at how many young people who have lived through multiple technological revolutions, facing the biggest generational revolution of their lives, are behaving like 70-year-olds from a previous era about it.
