If we wish to revolutionize medicine, space colonization, knowledge in the basic sciences, biotech so we can replace plastics and what not with biodegradable materials, we need a lot of effort put in that which previously had no economic incentive. If people do not need to work, at least in the same way as before, and have a LOT more brainpower available, the world could become beautiful. We just need to shift the focus from capitalist gains to morality as the basis of society.
