While I have absolutely no problem with AI in general, AI weapons are a no-go for me.
They don't even have to get into the hands of terrorists - it suffices when they are in the hands of the US government or even my own government (plus China's, Russia's, Saudi Arabia's, Turkey's and others'.)
We are seeing a horrible shift away from human rights and towards authoritarian regimes all over the globe. With AI weapons political opponents would land on the hit list. People like me.
I wouldn't be surprised if a headshot by a drone sent by the government killed me in 20 or 30 years.
But what to do about it?
Those whom I don't trust with those weapons are already the ones that have far too much uncontrolled power. You cannot really make them forgo AI weapons. They will refuse. It's probably already too late.
