So, I'm a software engineer, I use chatgpt to 'assist' in my work, but do I get it to do my work? No.
It's extremely useful when I'm working with an API and I need to do something but I don't know which part of the API I need.
Chatgpt can point me directly to the correct part of the documentation in 5 mins rather than having to spend 5 hours looking through the documentation and forums trying to understand what it is I need and the name of the class and methods etc, etc.
BUT, I always cross check chatgpt's answers with the actual documentation and test everything it gives me.
I cannot tell you the number of times it just makes shit up.
It always gives you an answer that 'sounds' like it makes sense, but that's exactly what gpt does, it predicts 'conversations'.
So it can and will give answers that 'sound' like they make sense in the context of the conversation, but are factually inaccurate.
TLDR: brilliant tool for discovering things you didn't know existed, terrible tool for factual accuracy... For now.
