It's not AI. It's a chatbot. It performs customer service. It is programmed to be polite and apologize.
When I was doing minimum wage jobs I would apologize to a customer at work, even if it was not my fault. I'm not actually "sorry" that someone got dark roast instead of medium roast but hadn't specified what they wanted at the time. But my "customer service" self is sorry. If that makes sense. Does that make me a liar?
I know this is just a skit, but everyone treats this AI like actually Artificial Intelligence just because it is called that, and calls itself that. Whereas, a chatbot programmed to provide service is not AI.
