a)How many 'artificial' neurones does an AI bot have?? The human brain has 86 billion...Each neurone has on average 7,000 synaptic connections to other neurones. It has been estimated that the brain of a three-year-old child has about a quadrillion synapses and aging adults 100 trillion . How does this compare with AI bots' artificial neurones/synapses? Mr Hinton seems to have no , or very little, knowledge of lingustics and is very easily impressed by AI performance hype. Competent translation between languages has been promised for at least sixty years and yet the 'translation' 'software' /AI still produces rubbish such as : English " flat dweller' 'translated' into French by a 'high level' computer AI 'translator' as: "habitant plat"!!!! This is because it "knows" ..that is experiences, nothing. b) this video states that the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima ended the second world war but this video failed to mention that in Hiroshima 78,000 people were killed, instantly ( many of them vaporised) a number that increased to 140,000 by the end of 1945 while the bomb dropped on Nagasaki instantly killied 27,000. Deaths in Nagasaki increased to about 70,000 by the end of the year due to acute radiation exposure. That, imho, gives an idea of the priorities and values of this video's producers.
