My personal issue with AI art is that 'the corporations and silicon valley techbros have literally admitted on paper, in writing and in interviews, that they want to isolate individuals and feed them a constant stream of curated content to keep them satisfied without media corporations needing to produce anything' That is the ultimate goal of AI; to supplant the entire Art & Media industry, to feed you constant curated slop like shadows on Plato's cave wall. Keep you docile without needing to lift a finger. Keep you isolated from other human beings by surrounding you with AI chatbot followers and roleplaying models acting the ideologue. And remember when AI 'artists' got pissed when AI models rolled out updates that automated the 'prompt engineering' part where the AI would refine its own prompts? Yeah, they got pissed about that and said it was taking their job, their human input, and automating art. The ultimate goal of the Torment Nexus is to remove the humans that operate the Torment Nexus. And as someone who does not improve at writing or artwork no matter what I do, to see these automated chatbots that have been around for, like, 3 years maximum suddenly overtake me just makes me wanna hang up the pencil and keyboard and go play mindless video games. Especially Deepseek. Have you seen Deepseek's prose? There's no way to poison prose writing, and poisoning of digital art and photography and whatnot feels like drips in the bucket because of the PR campaigns saying 'they don't work' or 'they're consumer abuse' or whatever the hell else. So my prose, which I've been writing for 18 years is now worse than the lowest common denominator schlop anyone can fart out. It's just real hard not to just say 'welp, that's it for me'.
