Can't help but feel so much was missed in this debate. AI stands to make obsolete all historical socioeconomic systems including the most successful to date, capitalism, as it erodes most human's purchasing power, the up side to their demise will be that we will realize near zero marginal cost for all goods & services.
The debaters spoke as if a 'job' is what we need, a job isn't what we need it is what a job can confer, i.e. *_access to the necessities of life,_* Working will become optional after the transition to, as Elon calls it 'Sustainable Abundance'. Looking forward to the realization of beautiful humanity becoming a space faring species together with the excitement, danger and fulfillment exploring has always conferred with the most noble of goals being to ensure that the light of consciousness of life continues to flicker in the vastness of space.
Finally people please check out the life work of the late great Jacque Fresco for IMHO the most feasible alternative socioeconomic model that may well be our future in the context of AI generated abundance.
