It’s a pretty good indicator of how many people will directly be effected by job displacement is if you were working form home during the pandemic AI can do you job now or in the very near future.
And that was millions of people so the resulting economic impact will affect all fields. It is just one more nail in the coffin of the middle classes. But how long do the ultra wealthy think they can survive when billions of extremely poor people around the world come knocking down the doors.
The implications in the short term are bad enough but long term consequences seem down right scary. As when in human history whe there was a huge concentration of wealth at the top did they voluntarily give up that wealth for the benefit of all?? NEVER. So I have little faith in the governments that will be controlled by these AI businesses and the wealthy setting up a safety net for those people basically rendered obsolete. History does not end well for those people at the top when those at the bottom finally realize they have nothing to lose by taking them down.
