The comments about ai taking job not being a problem, because technology took jobs in the past and it was okay are so... ugh.
First of all, it was not always okay for the people who lost the jobs, we need to do better and embrace changes in ways that don't involve thousands of people being misplaced with nowhere to go.
Secondly, when we got the internet instead of post, printing instead of scribes, machine instead of manual work - lives got better for so many people: vital goods became cheaper, finding friends became easier. "AI" tools can improve lives in many spheres of our lives, too. But how and whose lives do they improve when they regurgitate art?
