I am surprising all the time how anthropocentric many people are, so he thought that humans cultural phenomenon like "torturing kids is bad" could be derived from some creature being. OMG. Humanity is a molecule of water in the ocean. It doesn't matter absolutely what are you feeling, all the processes emerging from some pretty simple rules. Like temperature feeling for human is emerging from molecules moving. I think I can open a new universe for that man, he needs to google (or gpting :) ) abount emergent properties. You cant simulate that room because you cant isolate it from the outside effects, so to simulate a cup of water in the room you need to simulate whole universe, if you want to do it in details. I am not against the theory of simulation, but listening what is he saying it is make me think that we are not in simulation. Deriving principles, OMFG, what are you saying, creatures with some love and honor creating simulation, oh god, and I listening for that man for an hour, 15 years expert in AI security.
