I don't believe AI is conscious, because I know how LLM's work, it's just more complex predictive text. Consciousness with AI will happen when two things occur, first, self learning AI, by that I mean and AI that can retrieve information from places other than it's database and understand it. Second will be the advent of quantum computing, a self learning AI running on a quantum processor, it won't be conscious to begin with, but will become so in an instant and we'll have no idea.
