Once we had to believe or not an eyewitness of an event. We had to decide if we trusted the person. Then came photographs and that was then proof until photographs were easily manipulated, so now we don't believe photographs. We now need to not believe videos. Anyone that thinks deep fakes can be stopped by laws or appealing to the good nature of people is living in La La Land. We have to change our attitude, that's the only thing that will work. Fortunately, the next step in deep fakes will be a long time coming. Let me illustrate. There is a knock at your door and a long-lost girlfriend is standing there. You are thrilled! However unknown to you at that time she is a deep fake.
