I think much of this may apply and displace people in the US and other first-world countries, but in a large part of the world (especially in developing countries) I don’t see unemployment ever reaching 99%. The gap between places like San Francisco and a city like Lima, where I live, is massive. For example, self-driving cars feel almost impossible in such a chaotic environment; at least for the next 10 years I would bet. Anyway… I think the safest play is to buy land and secure a place in nature in case things go wrong in the big cities.
