It says God scattered them, for their disobedience, by creating new languages and the differences with race. I think we have created a new Tower of Babel and perhaps God allows mankind to destroy himself by trying to become God himself. The book of Revelations has some things that are indiscernable, but adding AI into it makes the strange imagery more believable.
