Here's an interesting quandary if they're going to do artificial general intelligence, and if that is achieved in two years time, would they even give it to the public. I'd assume that it'd be locked behind closed doors for the companies that built them. So that they can make themselves the richest companies in the world by it. Outsourcing all their work to the ai robot models, they won't have to hire anyone anymore like you said But... just like video phones were invented in the seventies, and we didn't see them till the iphone, watch them achieve ai supremacy and then lock it away only for them to use. If you create something that is greater than the sum total of human intellect, then really the only thing that can compete with it is God now.
