I think youre being a bit harsh honestly.. Ive been drawing, painting and creating all different types of art my whole life. I happen to agree with him, AI Image generators are just a tool.. while he didnt create the picture with his hands, he created it with his words. Im sure he went through the process of editing and refining the prompt over and over until it started to resemble whatever he was imagining in his head, and he even said he used photoshop to alter it.. I would argue that is an artistic process. Sure you could just tell it to make you a picture of "xyz" 100 times and pick one that you like, but its different if you are trying to create something specific and having to reiterate the prompt to get a desired result.. I also dont see the problem with copyrighting it, regardless of how it was made, its still a unique image. I personally dont think its really necessary, but I think he should be able to if he wants.. the examples you gave of heisenberg and dragonball z dont really make sense because technically those characters are actually copyrighted already so any AI generated images you made of them would understandably be un-copyrightable.. That guy is just saying that he doesnt want other people to claim or use that image as their own or put it on tshirts or their website or whatever without attribution, they can generate their own version if they want (if they even could), but they just wouldnt be allowed to use that exact image.. Youre entitled to your opinion of course, but on this topic you and most of the comment section come off like pompous a-holes.
