EU chat control would mean we're already at a dystopian level. If you don't know what that means it means they want to let an AI scan every single character you type.
In the future our leaders will be able to quickly ask the AI for anything we've communicated in the past xx years that could be interpreted as a danger to the continuation of the "party". To jail you go.
That's insane enough. Probably a reason to ban AI altogether honestly. Can of course later be combined with brain implants as well to let the AI scan your thoughts in real time for any wrongthink. The party will promise you're safe as long as you have nothing to hide.
