The problem with deepfake/AI generated stuff is that the law hasn't fully decided yet whether they're using copyrighted material. Like, the AI is using copyrighted images to generate new material on its own, but does that mean the owner of the original image (whoever took the picture) can claim copyright infringement or some other infraction (harassment/slander/etc in the worst cases), or is the material "transformative." If it is, then legally, there's nothing wrong with it. We don't have laws yet to cover this kind of thing. It's funny, that's how laws work. It's like, if you look into your local county's law code and they have a law that says "it's illegal to scream obscenities at a goat in while nude in front of a full moon," that means at some point someone screamed obscenities at a goat while nude in front of a full moon and people decided "maybe we shouldn't do that." The problem, as stated in the video, it's hard to enforce this kind of shit right now when the person doing it could be living in Saudi Arabia. Trying to prosecute them leads to dipolmatic incidents, where Saudi Arabia say's "okay, we'll give them to you in exchange for [X]."
