I actually think that the “race” to super intelligence is just a decoy. The powerful will ultimately not allow for the existence of something more powerful than themselves. The threat is the “low level” AI tools in the hands of the powerful that will be used to replace our jobs and monitor our compliance while they exploit our survival.
