Sometimes, being rude in a playful way can be refreshingly funny. Everyone on a Federation Starship is very polite with one another. They are great examples of what it means to be a good human. So many people find dubbing over Star Trek with rude profanity to be hilarious. Also, the appeal of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is that the characters on the show are the worst examples of being human. We can laugh it off because they are so terrible, we actually feel a little better about ourselves and the standards we put on ourselves. Comic relief should have a place in AI as well.
