If America sympathised more with the homeless, the fear of AI would be so diminished.
Imagine being a part of a social democracy, where the goal of political life is securing our collective wellbeing, rather than my individual wellbeing.
AI would be seen as positive sum, leaving up free time for parents to teach and care for their children. For people to spend time with their grandparents before they pass. For no parent to need 2 jobs to keep their child alive and without intimate care.
So long as we can see ownership of the economy as collective, we can be secure.
