I remember playing around with an AI art generator 3-4 years ago just for the novelty of it. But i quickly saw that the "art" had something...off about it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but a while later i heard someone explain it well by saying it doesn't have any soul behind it. There's no intention behind the image. I'm tempted to say it almost looks random, but even something random like a Jackson Pollock painting is more interesting to look at than anything AI could come up with
