Imagine a world in which we learn this lesson : homo sapiens will not interfere, alter or abuse a large portion of other biological processes, (which would contain for example land and water territories, flora and fauna; also the microscopic.) There might be a variable fence - but we learn, through forethought (omg our big beautiful brains, we are so hairless and special, we um harnessed fire and cooked meat and our brains grew and wow, a mutant narcissus was born) *or* consequence (oh wow now we are only seven peoples.) Our mindset is leeches. We should be inside the fence, not the other way around. What if also there is this fence between the majority of us who actually produce - through our material, real labor - all the excess wealth (ie time, power, good stuff - that drives our progress) and those few who literally only won a lottery and trademarked a new function (columns for stats, shopping for goods we made ourselves etc). The latter is a fetter on progress and they only exist as soldiers of capitalism. The idea that us workers just crave doing the menial crap jobs that exist right now and that we wouldn't rather spend that time under our own dominion is insulting. There are so many Einsteins out here that are never known, never able to contribute, that are blown away by advanced weapons of imperial powers, or by the abuses of capitalist austerity. My point being the super structure of our current function (capitalism) - that which we continue to renew the subscription - is an AI of itself - we already have a case study of how we would submit to a power greater than ourselves ( to the point of shoving our squishy bodies and the annoyingly round earth into a little commodified cube). Why do we lust for a king so much? Because we are still in infancy as a special species. Which hot take will it be? Forethought or consequence?
