I don't think AI is not , this massive Job loss engine. Yes it is going to drive a change from employee to entrepreneur. If you think about it call center, tech developer are all career opportunities that is only 40 years old. What AI can do is democratize tech immersion in small scale entrepreneur, who knows what he needs done can incorporate AI into his process. So yes computer science grads are not going to have the career they imagined(I have been telling the students not to chose Computer science major for past 5 years or so, ofcourse not many listened). Universal basic income is an idiotic idea as it will just drive up inflation. It can be universal benefits, but even that is just going to drive up depression. But AI can reduce cost of medicine, increase agricultural productivity and reduce commutation cost - that can improve quality of life of most people
