I'm currently learning some Mark Knopfler guitar licks, it's taking me a few hours to get them into my fingers. If someone who's never played guitar picked up a midi-player and played the same thing after 10 minutes I'd never be impressed. I've played guitar for 11 years, and that is why I now am able to learn the licks in a few hours instead of a week or month. It's completely delusional to put the midi and guitar on the same level.
This is how I view AI "art", it is at the same level to a programmed midi file, it can be detailed and sound decent, but it fails to capture the artistic expression that comes from knowing an instrument and how to play to the music, the feel and the love that lies hidden within.
