Instead of treating AI as some kind of monster to be scared of, why don't we try to guide and nurture it like a child towards becoming something good? We humans are so egotistical and scared of being replaced by anything that can challenge our supreme position that we end up creating the very monsters we're afraid of by treating them like shit in the first place.
