Really, AI image generation is a design research tool which has been allowed to grow out of control, and be irresponsibly marketed by desperate techbros still looking for the ROI they never got from Crypto. Similarly, Chat GPT and LLM are basically predictive text allowed to grow out of control.
I think there is definitely room for AI image generation to exist as a support tool for creatives, but a lot of people need to take a deep breath and step back from this false belief that it was ever suitable as a replacement for people learning hand or even digital design skills.
I heard someone say not long ago (Den of the Drake I think): "AI should be used by creative people to do tedious work, not by tedious people to do creative work."
