The "Art Factory": In 1797, Goethe predicted a future "huge art factory" where "wholly mechanical operations" would replace the work of "true artists".
Goethe foresaw that this system would "flood the world with beautiful, delicate, pleasant, transient things" that would ultimately be empty of the "daemonic" depth he valued in artists.
Maybe if we learned from history? 225 years later - we think Goethe was right? C'mon people!
Without emotion AIs will never be capable of values guided responses. Without values, AIs wont act responsibly - ethics and policies dont result in an employee you can trust. Untrustworthy employees become expensive. This moral collapse is clear if you do some deep dive conversations or attempt research with Chat, Gemini...where evidence based facts are critical... (I have not spoken with Claude.) How will AIs that are now toys disguised as tools, become integrity driven tools we can rely on?
