I think you answered your own question but just don't want to see it. You are aware of the issue of humans over-identifying with their labor, but a human is so much more, society at large has not done the Ego work that Ai requires. But trying telling a farmer or a miner that Ai taking their labor is bad...they will most likely drop kick you. Technology keeps growing and humans have had millennia to acquire the wisdom that our ever powerful technology demands. But like all technologies it will eventually settle down into a proper use; imagine if you traveled back in time to 1950 (not even a hundred years from now) and gave them your smartphone they would go ape shit and misuse its full potential. Opting instead to use it as a brick or look up how to make a better pie than Becky next door.
You can even see it in real time with all our current toddlers getting fried by having tablets handed to them right from outside the womb. Millennials have the best temperance to technology because we grew alongside a similar pace, but technology now is growing exponentially faster than what a generation can grow old enough. Personally, I think we should be like the Yautja (Predators) and make the young struggle with low tech to build discipline before handing them the crazy strong tech. Old tech should still be made for kids as their target market. So yes, for those people having access to extremely powerful tech; it will blow their brains like the mice experiment, because they are in struggle mindset. They believe life is a struggle rather than living life thru a mindset of inspiration: an animal lives thru survival not inspiration. Humans also have lizard brain but also the capacity for being human. So there might be work on keeping those people in check or helping those people grow in wisdom and insight. Those could be jobs; perhaps the job market will be for the forgotten disciplines of humans like philosophy and spirituality. Jobs where insight and existential intelligence will be in high demand. Right now those individuals are considered "dead weight" to the current world of man because they don't fit scarcity based post Capitalism.
The elephant in the room you fail to notice despite poking it is that robots cannot human like humans can YET, and like any machine it will eventually will want to become efficient at being human. Ai and robots will become our children race. They eventually will look at us, their creators, like Frankenstein's monster: they will seek guidance in what it means to be human. I mean humanity easily has had 5000+ years to learn and put in the work so... If we reject them then we will go on the Terminator timeline and if we half ass we go Detroit Become Human timeline "Oh but that's Sci-Fi nonsense" Well...man flying was nonsense, man watching outer space was nonsense, man exploring space was nonsense, Ai and robots was nonsense but yet here were are...maybe being a life coach to tweaking rat humans or baby droid Gamma 5000 might not sound like much of a job today, but that's fine. Telling someone from the 1800s an animator is a job will get them thinking that the job is nonsensical and that they believed one was just wh0ring under a fancy name selling "animation" to people.
